This supersized replica of a Roach Americana ("Palmetto Bug") has been created from an Atlantic Ribbed Musselshell, painted and stained and filled with an epoxy resin.The copper wire legs have been" feathered" with epoxy gel for that roach leg look. An alligator clip has been adhered to the belly. Among it's many uses, it makes a perfect hair barrette. Roach brooches and roach magnets are also available
About Roger Swezey
The first half of my eighty plus years were spent in the field of architecture working on the design and construction of some of the more notable structures in this country. A prime example would be the Metropolitan Opera House. In the mid-seventies I changed my life's course, by devoting it to my first love- Sculpture. Initially my work was only on one topic.
